SEABROOK Claiming he was provoked, a local man is requesting a jury trial on the New Hampshire attorney general’s charge he violated the state’s Civil Rights Act during an altercation with strong racist overtones.
John Kenneth Doran, 62, of Seabrook, is charged both criminally and civilly for an alleged assault that took place at the Valero Gas Station in Seabrook on July 29, 2020.
He was criminally indicted in January by the Rockingham County grand jury on a felony of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a gas pump nozzle, while shouting racial slurs at the Black victim. He is also charged with simple assault.
