The latest seven-day total of COVID-19 cases in Luzerne County increased by 99, and test positivity was 11.6%, down slightly from 11.8% over the previous seven-day period.
Luzerne Countyâs daily average of COVID-19 hospitalizations over the seven days â Jan. 22 through Thursday â was 119.6, down from 130.6. The daily average of COVID-19 patients on ventilators was 10, up from 6.9, and the case total was 1,038, up from 937.
Luzerne County remains in the substantial transmission range, which is defined as having a test positivity rate of at least 10% or an incidence rate of at least 100 cases per 100,000 residents over seven days.
The county incidence rate was 326.4 from Jan. 22 through Thursday. The statewide incidence rate was 203, down from 248.5, and test positivity statewide was 9.3%, down from 10.4%.
