In 2000, my family faced the horror that police had shot and killed my oldest brother, Paul. The narrative built around it made it more horrifying.
I had nearly forgotten about the 20th year since Paul’s death when I received the following from a friend:
“Watching the news and realize that the police shooting of the mentally ill homeless man is probably difficult for you to see. Just had you on my mind and wanted to offer virtual support,” Dr. Kenna Griffin wrote on Facebook Messenger.
