Of course i would like to thank the judges and the National Book foundation. I would like to thank all of the co finalists and my family who is here. My mother and my father who from the moment i could see were reading books. I would like to thank my brother who for me represents the beauty of humanity and also my fatherinlaw. This book actually came out of a conversation that we had. I of course would like to thank my wife who spent many days listening to the early drafts and what always encouraged me and has always encouraged me to be my biggest advocate. And consistently you see things like this, he challenges everything from our view of women to our view of sexuality and how we treat human beings who may be different from us. He challenges the way that we consider the womens role in justice and in the family and society as a role. Its an awesome book. If you havent read it you need to get the book. Hes a young man that i think will hear a lot from. The biggest thing, ive only been talking to him for the past ten or 15 minutes. Well just be honest i think take about about one thing that strikes me about him is how unassuming he is. For someone that writes with this kind of power you would think and who has this level of when it comes to this level of writing you think youd be a lot more boastful or proud, or thered be a level of but i think he understands that humility comes before honor and he takes that very seriously and he is unassuming.
