As the seconds ticked away near the conclusion of Friday night’s Division 3 district opener at Auburn Hills Avondale High School, Yellow Jackets quarterback Tyler Herzog heaved the ball into the night sky, having led the Yellow Jackets to a 34-24 win over Holly for Avondale's first playoff win since 2012.
The Holly Bronchos used a 5-yard touchdown run by senior Logan LaBadie with 1:20 left in the second quarter to gain a little steam heading into halftime. They then proceeded to score 28 more points in the second half of a 35-7 season-opening win over the host Royal Oak Ravens.
