Planning for the annual Ice Cream Social in Berryville is continuing at a good pace.
Dean Lee, executive director for the Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce, said last week that, so far, the various committees were humming along under the guidance of committee chairman Ken Wingate.
Thats exactly right, Wingate said. Weve appointed different committee heads to kind of get the ball rolling on the different aspects of the social to move it forward. Theres a lot of different things that need to fall into place for an Ice Cream Social, so all these committee chairs take their particular responsibilities and run with them.

The Kruse family from Austin, Texas Abby, Anna and dad Aaron enjoy themselves at the 2019 Berryville Ice Cream Social. After last years event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers plan to hold the 2021 event on July 30-31.

Last year, what would have been the 35th annual Berryville Ice Cream Social was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, with new cases waning and vaccines readily available, event organizers have begun making plans to bring the community celebration back.
Committee chairman Ken Wingate said it was time to try and get back a bit of normalcy.
