Five high school students formed a team to study and compare food prices at Stop & Shop in a lower-income community in Jamaica Plain where he lives as compared to a Stop & Shop in Dedham.
Several youth organizers with the Hyde Square Task Force who were researching inflation learned about how low-income shoppers often pay more for the same goods than shoppers in more affluent areas, and they wanted to test out that theory themselves.
