A woman who says her truck broke down en route to Kamloops court needs to offer more than her word if she hopes to avoid a trip back with the RCMP, a judge said Tuesday.
Desiree Johnston was supposed to be in Kamloops provincial court to face a preliminary inquiry. She is charged with possession of stolen property and theft.
Her lawyer Ken Sommerfeld told the court the woman was en route to Kamloops from her home in Alberta when her husband s truck broke down. They had to spend the gas money to tow the truck, leaving her without cash for the bus.
