The same engineer who put a USB-C port onto an iPhone, has now done the same thing with an AirPods case specifically so all his Apple devices charge the same way.
Robotics engineering student Ken Pillonel has modified a pair of AirPods with a USB-C port for charging replacing their proprietary Lightning port. It involved making a custom PCB that can bend to fit in the case.
