Every year is special; this year is specifically more special because historically the first year honoring chinese heritage was in 1993, this is the twentieth Year Anniversary of that; we are proud and happy that the happy new year series is continuing by the United States Postal Service. Oca is a National Organization 20 years ago urge the Postal Service to issue a series of stamps to honor the contributions of Chinese Americans and we have the support of many local organizations, the Chinese Chamber of commerce, the chinese consolidated benevolent associations and many other National Organizations and National Leaders that joined asking the post office to consider doing that. The bars and restaurants and were fine with the existing level of if any place, but we dont want anymore. The existing restaurant is already encroaching on existing space and they are in violation and out of permit. As someone allude to ir, the entertainment commissioner, we have to spend many hours of our time asking people to comply. The restaurant would be for us, a nuisance that we dont want to have to deal with yet another one. My question is why cant it be either remain a residential space or can it be a commercial space other than a restaurant . I think it is fun for them, they see our work process, our discussions, the decisions we make. It is good for us. We kind of behavior little bit when we have people in the audience. Msk music we are rehearsing for our most expensive tour; plus two concerts here. We are proud that the growth of the orchestra, and how it is expanded and it is being accepted. My ambition when i came on as music director here it was evident we needed absolutely excellent work. Also evident to me that i thought everyone should know that. This was my purpose. And after we opened, which was a spectacular opening concert about five weeks after that the economy completely crashed. My plan and im absolutely dogmatic about my plans were delayed slightly. I would say that in this very difficult timefor the arts and everyone, especially the arts, its phenomenal how new century has grown where many unfortunate organizations have stopped. Their previous that pg e was a client in the past. We did have an independent panel. One of the Panel Questions was to disclose any conflict of interest and talk about relationships with p g e which davis and associates did have as did other folks who completed for this contract. The independent panel who scored ultimately selected davis and associates felt confident that there wouldnt be any conflict of interest. Also in our existing contract with davis and associates we have privacy clauses and conflict of interest clauses. I think we at the pc feel confident that there is no conflict of interest and any work that davis and associates will do for the pc will not be conflict future work with pg e.
