The very first time Canton residents Marc and Julie Godman walked into the Plymouth Elks Lodge and settled into their seats at the bar, they felt an immediate warmth. It was like walking into Cheers, said Marc Godman, who joined the Plymouth Elks lodge when Julie transferred her membership from one in Grand Blanc after relocating to metro Detroit. Even though we were new and a couple of the younger people in the place, it felt like family.
