Victoria’s economy will still be paying a price for the devastating bushfires of 2019 and 2020 a decade after the blazes ravaged vast areas of the state.
Analysis by economists from the state Treasury and the University of Melbourne predicts that the long-term damage to Victoria’s tourism industry will be felt by regions far away from the main bushfire zones of East Gippsland and north-east Victoria.
