Local golf enthusiasts and the golfing world are mourning the loss of Ken Doig, Senior.
Doig passed away on Monday, just days shy of his 93rd birthday.
His daughter Carolanne says her father was a hockey player growing up and didn’t take up golf until he went to Scotland.
Ken Doig and his brother Rob designed and built the Seaforth Golf Course on the family farm in 1960.
Carolanne says it was a trip to see Arnold Palmer play that inspired them to build the course.
Doig went on to win the Ontario Senior Championship and the Ontario Senior Champion of Champions in 1984, and was named to the Wall of Recognition by the Golf Association of Ontario in 2012.
