Commissioners in their comments noted that Fox has a great understanding of the county’s finances. Fox said she has attended the last Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) conference in 2019 and attended union negotiation training in that same year.
Some board members commented Fox “needs to have demonstrated improved employee retention” and in leadership.
“This is an area [leadership] I feel she has fallen back some; I feel she has given too much authority or maybe she just relies too much on (Finance Director Linda Pigue) now,” one commissioner wrote. “Be careful, you are still our leader for the county.”

Ken Bowen was severely wounded by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2009.

On Monday, the Texas-based non-profit Military Warriors Support Foundation awarded Bowen with his very own home.
Bowen lives in Virginia, but Military Warriors have provided nearly 40 mortgage-free homes in the Houston area since 2007.
“These heroes provide us the freedom that we have,” said the foundation’s CEO & founder (ret.) Lt. Gen. Leroy Sisco. “You know that, and I know that, and we can’t ever forget it.”
