WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Dec. 31, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Sotherly Hotels Inc. (NASDAQ: SOHO) (the “Company”) announced today that the Company has entered into a Note Purchase Agreement with affiliates of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners LP and Machine Investment Group for the issuance of certain notes (collectively, the “Note”) in an aggregate amount of $20.0 million, with an additional $10.0 million available to draw within the next twelve months, at the Company’s option. The Note matures in 3 years and will be payable on or before the maturity date at the rate of 1.47x the principal amount borrowed during the initial 3-year term, with a 1-year extension at Company’s option. It was a good year to read a book: Steve Pfarrer’s favorite reads of 2020 Published: 12/30/2020 9:29:52 AM I jumped on that “Best of” bandwagon a few years ago when I started compiling my 10 favorite books of the year for the Gazette. But in 2020, the list has grown: With the pandemic shutting down many other entertainment options, I ended up reading more than usual. And with regional libraries my primary source of new books shuttered a good chunk of the year, I also turned to my own collection to investigate titles I’d never gotten to. So this list, which is in no particular order, includes books from 2020, a few from more recent years, and others from a good bit further back.

Fri, 12/18/2020 - 5:43pm admin Vincent Moran “Red” Doss, 96, of Cairo, died at 9:19 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center Long Term Care in Marion. He was born on Feb. 29, 1924, in Mitchellsburg, Ky., the son of Arthur and Mollie Lamb Doss.   He married LaVelle Morris. She preceded him in death on May 28, 1980. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  After his military service, his first job was with Kemmons Wilson, who later founded Holiday Inn.  This was where Mr. Doss was introduced to the amusement machine business. He and LaVelle moved to Cairo in 1952, where he started a prominent amusement machine business, as well as a record store, night clubs, restaurants and a hotel.
