FEES, WEEDS AND EQUIPMENT SALE COMES BEFORE CITY COUNCIL
Mostly smaller items took up the agenda for the Kemmerer City Council’s regular meeting on Monday, May 24. The biggest expenditure concerned chip sealing some city streets. City Administrator Brian Muir presented the council with three chip sealing options. After a short discussion, the council decided on the option that would not exceed just over $48,000 in
expenditures. Muir said that the streets around Triangle Park and 5th West Avenue were in most need of being sealed. Muir said the work would most likely be done in July.
The council, at the recommendation of Recreation Center and Events Center director Rachelle Points, approved a 20 percent increase in fees for use of the Recreation Center, the Events Center and the outdoor pool. Points said the fees at these venues haven’t been raised in four years. The new fees will go into effect on July first.
