In a tragic incident, four teens from Nashik out on a picnic drowned at the Kelwe Beach while trying to rescue a 13-year-old boy who was being swept away by strong currents of a whirlpool during high tide here on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The court was assured that no mangroves will be destroyed here for the jetty. In a 55-page judgment dated October 29, the HC has permitted the construction of passenger jetties at Kelwa in Palghar, at Khare kuran and a Ro-Ro Jetty at Kharwadashri, abutting the mangroves in the eco-sensitive zone.
