Dheerga Sumangali in 1972, her magical voice captivating audiences and music directors alike. Soon her voice was the secret behind many chartbusters and Vani Jairam reigned in the South Indian film industry for more than four decades. She went on to sing more than 20,000 songs in over 1,000 films in at least 18 languages.
