SEATTLE - This is one kool baby.
Naming a child can be a stressful situation and new parents will often spend hours upon hours coming up with the perfect, meaningful name. As one mom found out, however, it’s really important to spell that name correctly on the birth certificate.
Imagine choosing the perfect name for your child only to have someone at the hospital make a spelling mistake. Kelsey Tate is from Seattle, Washington, and says she intended to name her new baby Kora, but an error made by the hospital means the child’s legal first name is Korn, like the band. She posted about the issue on Twitter, explaining in her caption, “The hospital messed up my baby’s name and we just got the birth certificate and it’s Korn. My baby’s name is legally Korn.” In the comments she also noted, “1. The name is supposed to be Kora, 2. Yes this should be able to be easily fixed if we are fast! 3. There is a chance they may have had me double check this, but to be fair, I was down a lot of blood at the time.” The mistake prompted other Twitter users to share their own stories of their names being recorded incorrectly.
