Moose jumps into backyard pool after hopping fence
A moose in northern Ontario got into some deep water trouble but emerged uninjured Monday, and the homeowner who witnessed the strange encounter says it taught her a lot about the animal s abilities.

It wasn’t a relaxing bath or a voluntary nap, but a young moose seems to have been rejuvenated or relieved, at least by her to return to the wild.
The release occurred about a half-hour before sunset on Monday and more than eight hours after the yearling female got trapped in a partially filled pool on Sandra Court in Garson.

Kelsey Heikkila was inside with her two children when she heard a bang outside her Garson home and then a splashing noise.
“My immediate thought was, OK, both my kids are inside, so who’s in my pool?” she said.

The resident of Sandra Court said it’s common to have wildlife experiences in her neighbourhood, but the pool crasher was unusual enough that she wasn’t even sure what it was at first.
“I’m like, is that a horse? No, it’s a donkey. And then I realized, holy crap, it’s a moose.”
