You see the clouds moving in. Some showers, too. Were not going to see a lot of rain from this. The main impact will be from the winds which will be picking up. There will be showers moving toward the jersey shore. Some of those will be reaching inland. Most of that activity stays off shore. Its a weakening storm. Still a hurricane with 75mileanhour winds. These bands of showers will be making their way toward the coastline and inland. The winds, thats the biggest problem with this storm system. The wind has started to pick up. Its a 14mileanhour wind, not going to cause too many problems at the shore. The rip current risk is high. The tropical impacts will be felt especially later today and into this evening. Jose will never come ashore, but its sending its calling card by way of churning, surf and strong currents. No swimming allowed today, tomorrow at the jersey and delaware shores. Its Risky Business out there. Its monday night and the big story on action news is hurricane jose. This wont be a destructive storm, but that doesnt mean it wont be a real problem. We have three reporters tonight, Trish Hartman . Avalon, Annie Mccormick in Atlantic City and the latest information from accuweather and meteorologist cecily tynan. Whats the story . If you look at the hurricane jose, it looks more like a noreaster. Its losing its characteristics, but its 175 Miles Per Hour, center 235miles east of cape hatteras. As you take a look at satellite you can see that there is cloud cover obviously pouring in off the ocean and were getting close to seeing some rain bands as well. M. , theyre still off the coast so if youre down on the beach on the boardwalk you might be able to get a little bit of a quick walk in before that rain becomes an issue. A minimal impact on our area in most ways although down the shore there is some impact still. Satellite shows you that the cloud cover from jose is sweeping in off the coast.
