ASCENSION Day, Thursday, May 13, is being marked by the following church services. Ascension Day Communion followed by breakfast at Bibury at 7.30am. From 10am, Thy Kingdom Come’ prayers at All Saints’ Church, Down Ampney. Ascension Day Communion at Ampney Crucis from 7pm. THERE will be a jumble trail in the village this Sunday, May 16, from 11am to 3pm. The trail is being organised by Down Ampney Primary School PTA. Villagers can use their driveways to set up stalls to sell or give away their unwanted items. There is a registration fee of £5. All registration proceeds will be shared between the PTA and the fundraising effort to resurface the childrens’ playground.
Down Ampney news with Melanie Fouracre THE socially distanced queue at the cake sale in aid of the children s playground resulted in the magnificent sum of £914.10 being achieved which when combined with the £200 raised by the raffle held at the same time, comes to an amazing total of £1,114.10. Kelly Keene and her team of helpers would like to thank everyone who came to buy cakes, donated cakes and bought raffle tickets. THE village hall is due to re-open the main hall from Monday, May 17, for indoor sports activities such as exercise classes; coffee mornings and social clubs with the Rule of 6 for indoor gatherings and business meetings with the Rule of 6 for indoor gatherings.
