A CARDIGAN woman has been banned from the roads for a year after admitting drug-driving. Kelly Harcourt, of Maes Henfordd, Cardigan, was caught while driving a Fiat Punto on the B4333 at Adpar, Newcastle Emlyn, on June 20 last year. A drugs test was positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, with a reading of 234 microgrammes per litre of blood. The legal limit is 50 microgrammes. Harcourt, who had previously denied the charge, pleaded guilty to driving when the proportion of a controlled drug exceeded the specified limit when she reappeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre. As well as the 12-month driving ban, the 34-year-old was fined £135 and was ordered to pay £120 in prosecution costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
