Montana s largest city restarted its water plant Thursday after shutting it down amid record flooding that s caused widespread damage in Yellowstone National Park and surrounding communities.
The city of Billings asked residents to conserve water because it was down to a limited supply when the Yellowstone River triggered closure of the treatment plant
Billings had a just a 24-to 36-hour supply of water and officials asked its residents to conserve while expressing optimism the river would drop quickly for the plant to resume operations.
Floodwaters that rushed through Yellowstone National Park and surrounding communities earlier this week are moving through Montana’s largest city, flooding farms and ranches and forcing the shutdown of its water treatment plant
