Genesis Alkali employees Tamara Fennell and Erin Toolson along with United Steelworkers Local 13214 members Lew Atkinson and John Larsen present United Way of Southwest Wyoming with a check representing the total pledged by employees and union members during the 2020 workplace campaign.
The United Way received a pledge of $56,506 from United Steel Workers Local 13214 and employees at Genesis Alkali.
The pledge was made through the United Way of Southwest Wyoming s workplace campaign and go to support community-based initiated focused on education, health and basic needs.
United Way funds Sweetwater County initiatives such as the Food bank of Sweetwater County, Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County and the YWCA s Financial Empowerment and Center for Families and Children programs, among others.

“United Way of Southwest Wyoming makes it easy for companies to support local nonprofits. By offering payroll deduction to our employees, they can support their community, whether they live in Sweetwater County or Uinta County. By giving them the opportunity to give smaller amounts over time, that adds up to make a big impact on our communities,” said David Caplan, Director of Corporate Communications, Genesis Alkali.
To achieve its mission, United Way awards grants to local programs that have measurable goals.
