It got through months of COVID-19 testing, imposed idle time and another highly successful regular season.
Now it’s conference playoff time for the University of Maine’s women’s basketball team.
“Since the season started for sure we wanted to win the regular season and win the playoffs to make it to the NCAA tournament and once we’re there our goal is definitely to make it to the Sweet Sixteen,” said UMaine fifth-year senior Blanca Millan, America East’s Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Maine Women Close Out Regular Season with 82-53 Win Over UNH
The Maine Women s Basketball Team closed out the regular season with a 82-53 victory over the University of New Hampshire Saturday afternoon, February 20th at The Pit on the UMaine campus.
UMaine, the regular season American East champions was led by Blanca Millan and Anne Simon who each finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Maeve Carroll and Kelly Fogarty each had 12 points.
Dor Saar had 6 points and 6 assists and is the only Black Bear to record 1000 points AND 500 assists in her career!
UNH was led by Amanda Torres with 16 points and Ivy Gogolin with 14 points.

DURHAM, N.H. Kelly Fogarty scored 30 points, including a school-record 10 3-pointers, and the University of Maine women’s basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 76-56 win Sunday over New Hampshire.
Fogarty made 10 of 17 3-pointers for the Black Bears (6-1, 3-1 America East), breaking her record of nine 3-pointers set on Dec. 4, 2019.
Blanca Millan added 14 points.
Amanda Torres had 12 points and Helana Delaruelle scored 10 for New Hampshire (2-7, 2-4).
