The Saskatchewan RCMP said Wednesday charges won’t be laid in connection with a weekend incident that police initially thought was an abduction.
On Sunday, the Mounties issued a release saying they were searching for a 30-year-old woman who may have been abducted in Regina by a 29-year-old man. The alert was sent out after a friend got a concerning Facebook message from the woman.
On Wednesday, the RCMP said the Major Crime Unit-South had concluded its investigation and decided not to lay charges.
The investigation also determined the truck thought to be connected to the case was not, so police aren’t looking for it any longer.

The investigation into a possible abduction over the weekend has concluded, and RCMP say no charges will be laid.
The search for 30-year-old Stephanie Bruch and 29-year-old Kelly Baht began Sunday (9th) morning, when it was believed Baht may have abducted the woman.
The pair was located Monday (10th) morning, walking along Highway 35, south of Bankend, and following the investigation, Mounties say a truck thought to be involved is not, and is no longer being sought.
Baht remains in custody, as he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large on other charges.
