Cedar Hill Citizen Has Great Memories of 25 Years With Cedar Hill ISD
“Digging Up” Memories Of A 25 Year Career
(CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) The “Super Collider”, the Ellis County-based greatest project that never was, did bring some positive developments to North Texas in the early 1990s.
That’s when a married couple of archaeologists – Joseph and Nancy Yedlowski – moved to the region, so Joseph could work on an archaeological study before the project proceeded.
The United States Congress decided not to fund the program – which would send and split atoms through a large tunnel.
But the Yedlowskis and their three young daughters were already in North Texas, so they purchased a home in Cedar Hill in 1994. Joseph continued working as an archaeologist.

All the merrier: Community helps with Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund gift distribution
Once a holiday tradition is established, most find it hard to give it up.
That is especially true of the local firefighters and their family members who have worked hard annually for the last 90 years to administer and improve the Columbus Fireman’s Cheer Fund.
While Cheer Fund co-chairman Ben Noblitt wasn’t expecting doughnuts, orange juice, hot chocolate and coffee, somebody brought the tasty goodies anyway during Saturday’s annual Cheer Fund distribution. After all, they have long been part of the Cheer Fund tradition.
Santa Claus was not expected to make an appearance this year due to COVID-19. But as firefighters and their families arrived shortly after 7 a.m., there was the Jolly Old Elf himself (looking remarkably like Santa’s helper Ralph Childers) getting his photo taken with firefighter families. Santa is also a cherished Cheer Fund tradition.
Midland ISD Offering Free COVID-19 Testing For Students and Employees
According to NewsWest 9, the district will do a phase process on the COVID-19 rapid testing. Sometimes teachers and staff work so diligently and hard and fast during the day that it s once they slow down that they realize they re not feeling well and so we want to make sure that we have an after hours opportunity for them as well, said Kellie Spencer, Chief Operation Officer at MISD.
The focus of the first three phases will be those that have symptoms.
The fourth phase will be testing those without symptoms but they want to come back from quarantine.
