a memorial was held for a jockey killed during a race. how that jockey was remembered. reporter: eight horses sprang from the starting line to run around this one mile track. after the memorial race a crowd of friends and colleagues of the 33-year-old posed with his picture. he was a good guy. reporter: this is the sport he dedicated his life too. born in mexico he had raised more than a thousand times. he hadda 55 wins. during a race here thursday night he fell off his horse and later died from head injuries. he straightened the turn for just one step and that was enough to bump his horse on the shoulder and sent him out and down he went. the horses are moving at 40 miles an hour and it s a dangerous situation. we who are left behind mourn. reporter: the race communitied hands and hung community joined hands. i will remember him as a good human being. reporter: this afternoon it was back to the races. the jockeys say there is no time to reflect on the peril
