Kent County Sheriff s Office investigating homicide at Cascade Township hotel

CASCADE TWP., Mich. â The Kent County Sheriff s Office (KCSO) is investigating a shooting at a Cascade Township hotel that killed 1 Grand Rapids.
Police were first dispatched just after 1 p.m. at the Clarion Inn and Suites at 4981 28th St. SE in Cascade Township, on a report of people fighting outside and someone being shot.
Deputies arrived to find Markel Williams, a 23-year-old Grand Rapids man, unresponsive in the parking lot.
Williams was transported via ambulance to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
