An entire village spanning two districts in Kelantan was placed under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) when 78 Covid-19 cases were found in the community on 7 May.
Kampung Pauh Lima – situated in Bachok and Kota Bharu – and its 1,032 residents will be confined to their homes from 19 May till 1 June.
According to the Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Shafien Mamat, the village will be tightly secured to avoid villagers from moving about. Authorities will also be blocking off ‘laluan tikus’ or hidden trails within the village to keep people in.
104 officers will be on station throughout the (EMCO) period. We’ve identified seven laluan tikus and are looking for appropriate locations to set up barbed wires.

KUALA LUMPUR – As Aidilfitri draws near, there still are some individuals who are stubborn and willing to break the law to cross state borders although the interstate travel ban comes into effect today.
In KELANTAN, after over 1,000 vehicles that tried to enter the state were ordered to turn back yesterday, another 366 vehicles were ordered to do the same from 12 am till 7 am today for not having police permits.

“Currently, roadblocks are conducted at three entry points into Kelantan – Jeli, Gua Musang and Pasir Puteh – and 1,426 vehicles have been ordered to turn back,” Kelantan Police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat said when contacted by Bernama today.

PASIR MAS, May 9 More than 500 vehicles attempting to enter the state without interstate travel permit were ordered to turn back yesterday, said Kelantan police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat.
He said the number was recorded between 12 am and 5 pm yesterday, at the three main entry points to the state, namely, Gua Musang, Pasir Puteh and Jeli.
Apart from not having interstate permit letter, Shafien said there were also a handful of road users who only produced the permit without verification of any police station.
