Wanda Lou Inglis, 77, of Bolivar took her Heavenly flight on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. She was the wife of the late Denny Inglis. They were united in marriage on Sept. 23, 1959.Â
She was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Bolivar to Thelma and Pearl âP.A.â Parsons. She attended Bolivar High School and was in the graduating class of 1961. Â
In her early years, she worked for the Gospel Publishing House and was a member of âThe Parsons Sisters,â a locally known gospel music group with her sisters Shirley Wright and Judy Brakebill, and friend Donna Cole. Together they traveled across the U.S. ministering at churches and recorded two albums. She also worked at Headquarters for the General Council of the Assembly of God Churches and Hackers Dental Office in Bolivar. Â
Local musicians can’t play live, but that hasn’t stopped those who typically organize benefit concerts at this time of year from helping neighbors in need.
Both the Cape Cod Christmas Cavalcade and Yule for Fuel featuring dozens of performers among them are back in a virtual way this year. Online compilations of numbers from past shows are available to watch, with hopes that you’ll also donate to help people who are having trouble paying for housing and paying fuel bills. Watch for some live online appearances and 2020 surprises.
Another online concert put together by various acts aims to help buy food for employees in the hospitality industry hit hard by the effect of COVID-19 on travel.
