Humble ISD to rename high school for Sconzo

Humble ISD to rename high school for Sconzo Written by Sha Johnson Published: 14 December 2020 Former Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo will be honored by having Quest Early College High School renamed to Dr. Guy M. Sconzo Early College High School. In a unanimous decision, all seven board trustees voted to rename the campus that some feel the late Sconzo, who served as superintendent from 2001-2016, had the most impact on. Sconzo passed away in April of 2020 after battling cancer.  The “Team of Eight” as Sitton described, consisted of the seven current school board trustees and the current Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen, whom replaced Sconzo in her position. One by one, each of them shared heartfelt, and sometimes teary-eyed, words of gratitude and honor in being involved in the deliberation and decision.
