Posted: Apr 15, 2021 7:23 PM AT | Last Updated: April 15 Premier Iain Rankin says timelines Northern Pulp outlines in court documents for a potential new effluent treatment facility might not be achievable.(Communications Nova Scotia) Nova Scotia Premier Iain Rankin says his government does not plan to have settlement talks with Northern Pulp, despite a warning from the company that it might sue the province if the two sides can t agree on the terms of an environmental assessment for a new effluent treatment facility. The company said in an affidavit recently filed in a B.C. court that it intends to submit a revised proposal for the new facility next month. It added litigation may be necessary to resolve disputes if common ground can t be found.

Sign Up The number of people cycling in Scotland increased in almost every month of the last year as coronavirus lockdown restrictions led to a boom in biking, according to a national organisation. Cycling Scotland uses a network of 47 automatic cycle counters across the country to compile data on biking. It found there were 47% more cycling journeys recorded between March 23 2020 and March 22 2021 compared with the same period in 2019­–2020.
