Until last week when the Supreme Court said its okay for states to ban affirmative action programs at public universities thus completing the mission of racial healing this court embarked on last year. The Supreme Court essentially knocked down one of pillars of the civil rights movement. It invalidated a key part of the Voting Rights act, the law enacted in 1965 to stop Racial Discrimination at the polls. As chief Justice John Roberts said nearly 50 years later things have changed dramatically. Jon racism is over [cheers and applause] of course, the justices were codifying what many of us had known for a very long time. America treats people equally.
The reason for thi shooting. None of the people that he shot were a militarnot to military personne. That all civilians. Friends of a lexus stated that he worked with others and he may have been frustrated about his pay but they never expected this. Going out and taking other peoples lives is another thing. U. S. Officials stated that he was discharged because of a pattern of misconduct. He was arrested for shooting the tires out on a car. And they stated that he had a and dirk fuel black out. He was arrested because he fired a gun and one time from his apartment. The Washington Post stated that he was arrested in georgia for disorderly conduct. As the Investigation Continues people are pausing to remember the victims who lost their lives. 3000 people worked as navy yard and it is closed today unless you are emergency personnel. At 10 00 a. They shared their grief with south bay reporter Lisa Amin Gulezian tonight. We were totally unprepared for and it came as quite a shock to us. Her family in live more cant believe what has happened so par away. The 51yearold was working in building 197 on the fourth floor when aaron alexis started shooting. Mary was one of the last five victims to be identified. It is a great loss to my whole family. I think sthee was the core of i think she was the core of our family and we lost her.
