into louisiana, mississippi, and here in arkansas four were killed in this small community northwest of little rock. 2,000 residents. this is vilonia. this is some of the damage. this is not home damage, but certainly trees always a big problem with strong tornadic winds. this huge root bulb about six feet closed the main highway from little rock and conway. they have got to just snake their way in with chain saws and heavy road equipment and unform they found those fatalities. another tree taking out a shed and out building. the other angle is the heavy rainfall. some of the ozarks, those mountains in the northern part of the state and southern missouri, have taken in almost a foot and a half of rain in some spots since late last week. more is on the way. and in poplar bluff, we have been watching the levee. it was breached late this morning. we ve ordered more mandatory evacuations on top of the 1,000 folks who had already evacuated. at least 115 shelters as the black river
joining us is sergeant keith hefner from popular bluffs police department. thank you for joining me. thank you. what is the latest on the situation there? well, tamron, at this point obviously this has been a severe situation incident for us in general since late friday night early saturday morning. we ve experienced approximately 15 inches of rain over the last four days, some of that coming 5 and 6 inches at a time. not only are we dealing with the flooding from the black river, which is above 16 foot flood stage but also from the flash flooding due to the extent of the heavy downpours. we have had some severe weather. we ve been rather fortunate as far as tornadoes, we ve been under a few warnings. we do not have any reportable damage in the immediate poplar bluff area from that. most of ours is water related. we received over roughly 3,100 phone calls since 10:00 p.m. on saturday night. several of those being 911 calls. we re now well above 70 water
