And county of san francisco. This has been a pet peeve of mine long when i worked as a caregiver. I was taking care of people in wheelchairs and people with disabilities. You know, it is really time that we check businesses that do not have door openers. At 1st of was like you have to let these things roll off your back. But then, it deflates you, it makes you feel less of a human when you have to ask someone or look around for some help instead of them having a door, things for people with disabilities. I believe i need to start putting companies on blast. I hate to do this because i am an all american boy, but the United States post office, the one on gary and steiner, needs a door opener. There is nothing that frustrates me more when i have a package that i need to deliver and there is a line of people there and then im embarrassed because somebody has to come open the door for me and im dropping all these things out of my hand. So businesses beware that keith dennis will put you on
Seniors, when they reach 64, if they have a private disability insurance, its canceled and they must rely solely upon their own resources and social security. Were going to see a cohort of people who are very likely going to be ripe for eviction relocation and displacement. So, if you could keep that on your radar, that would be great. Thank you. Tanya. One of the things i think is very, very important is education within the industry itself, you know, to get more people involved directly with people with disabilities, seen and not seen. In many times theyre just bypassed. Everybody else is going to handle the situation, but not allow them to really be directly involved. I think thats paramount. And as the society ages, its not going to get any better. Especially among people who dont speak english, i think that, that is the most bypassed community of all. Councilmember zarda. I just want to go ahead and thank you for can you having today. This is a very touchy subject, as you must kno
Hasnt arrived on. State legislation. There were two bills we were monitoring and tracking. One is that was introduced by assembly man tom amiano to give San Francisco a choice in how it does its energy cca programs. Unfortunately that bill died in the local government committee. They had some concerns about t the forces on the other side that didnt want to see it said it violated the city charter but we said it didnt but the bill did not move forward. The other bill were monitoring is the brad ford bill 2145 which would change cca programs it and the bill would get through the committee. Its now sitting at Appropriations Committee where it will get a hearing next week. Should it go from there to the Assembly Floor and pass that to the senate side so were monitoring that. I believe ms. Miller on behalf of chair avalos and sent that and i will keep you uptodate as the legislature moves forward on the process and on the final one i will talk about here on the list is the as the three of y
