TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A woman wanted for questioning in connection to a murder and arson investigation from September is now facing charges.
Keisha D. Stewart, 29 of Cadiz, was charged with complicity to arson (2nd degree), complicity to abuse of corpse, complicity to tampering with physical evidence and complicity to burglary (2nd degree).
Stewart learned of the charges at the Christian County Jail where she has been lodged since December.
A preliminary hearing for Jonathan R. McCoy, the man arrested for the September murder of Thelma N. Barnett of Cadiz, was held Tuesday morning in Trigg County District Judge James Reddâs courtroom.
McCoy had entered a not guilty plea in the case during a previous appearance in Trigg County District Court.
McCoy, 42, was arrested by detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 1 and charged with Barnettâs murder and the subsequent arson of her home on Will Jackson Road in Trigg County.
Barnett, 81, died on Sept. 16 at her home in what state police have described as a brutal murder. Her home had been set on fire, and her body was discovered the following morning.
