that s a talking point. and then beyond that in terms of women themselves, i was against brett kavanaugh being confirmed as a democrat and as a liberal woman. and i looked at dr. ford and i did believe her testimony. we don t need to reiterate that. just his countenance alone. just him slamming his fist. if that was me up there before the senate slamming my fist and crying. ed: want to reiterate. litigate that what we need to be asking ourselves, not just as women but as a nation, what are the policies of the nancy pelosi? what are the policy he is of the chiewrms, of the part can you say bookers of the crazy maxine waters? what are their policies? hate and resistance is not going to put food on my table. ed: to your point, let s go back to keisha. one point, i think in this election for the mid terms, the republicans are selling peace and prosperity. when our country pros%, the problem is. the democrats lose.
that s what s going to happen if you listen to them. one is fighting back against the immigration policy. it would be the mayor of atlanta who signed an executive order prohibiting city jails from accepti accepting any new detainees. joining us is keisha. it is a pleasure to have you here with us ton show. you knead. it was really about taking a look at what our role was as a crisis we are facing as a nation. for me it was looking through
what comfort can you give to a child who s crying out for their parent lying on a concrete floor? because right now, that s all many of them have. reportedly, folks who are working in many of these detention facilities have not allowed to hold, to hug, to comfort. my 7-year-old son said to me this morning, he said, mommy, when i wake up, i m afraid. and then you make me feel better essentially is what he said to me today. so that s what every parent hopes to do. we hope to be there for our children when they need us. and you think about the journey of these children. doesn t begin in these detention centers. these children have traveled months and weeks to get to the border. because they are leaving conditions that are less than humane. and for them to finally reach our borders and for us as the united states of america to do this to families is simply unbelievable. atlanta mayor keisha lance
pushing forth women s rights. it s not about employing women. what she is saying here i do not believe the people going um for these positions, even though they are women, are qualified to hold that position. and that s a fair argument. i disagree with wendy. because one of the statements thought senator made which she stole from someone else is that it should have been lehman sisters instead of lehman brothers. that s saying that women should be in those positions leading those companies and not men. it s a very broad statement that should not be made pause one gender is almost like saying one race is better than another race. it s very inappropriate and not true. i m all for diversity. but to state that women should be in those positions or they will make better leaders than men is just ridiculous in my opinion. abby: i think that s a good point. we can end it right there. keisha, wenty, thank you for being on with us this morning. it s a good debate. thank you. abby: the media s
women trump nominated. she is all for female empowerment. here she is talking about women and the 2008 financial crisis. take a listen. that s why the empowerment of women is so important throughout the economy and through leadership through these offices because we don t value women in society. and that s just a fact. you know, if it wasn t lehman brothers but lehman sisters we might have had the financial collapse. abby: here to react we have wendy osefo also a contributor for the hill and keisha is an attorney. thank you for being with us. good morning. kish sharks i will start with you. oftentimes we say actions speak louder than words. in this case it seems like words are speaking a lot louder than the actions. i agree. the senator s comment was very, in my opinion, a very ignorant statement. and it contradicts her actions as you stated. she has voted against numerous women who tried for leadership roles and it s just contradictory and doesn t make sense to say that one ge
