Frank Harris, 18, and a 17-year-old, are facing murder charges and will be in court Friday.
Harris is charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, police said. The 17-year-old is charged as a juvenile with one count of murder and one count of attempted aggravated battery, police said.
Wednesday afternoon, 73-year-old Vietnam veteran Keith Cooper was running errands on Greenwood Avenue.

More than 200 people huddled outside Hyde Park’s Kimbark Plaza on Friday, the same place where Cooper was brutally attacked.
The 73-year-old was heading into CVS on Wednesday when prosecutors say two men tried to steal his SUV.

Two suspects have been charged with a violent attempted carjacking that ended with the death of a Vietnam War veteran, Chicago police said Friday.

CHICAGO (CBS) Friday night dozens gathered to dance, sing and praise a Vietnam veteran murdered for his car, but the victim’s daughter had a stern message to the accused teens.
Keith Cooper survived two tours in Vietnam but died in a Hyde Park parking lot Wednesday. It is also where family friends and even fellow veterans came out to salute him.
Friday was a celebration filled with music, dancing and kind words for the man who was clearly admired. Dozens remembered Cooper for his love of jazz and bowling and as a proud Vietnam veteran.
