Chairperson of Gorey Tidy Towns has called for Ramsfort Woods to be restored to a satisfactory condition following the cutting down of a large swathe of trees.
The Wexford County Council Annual Environment Awards were held at the Ferrycarrig Hotel and proved to be a tremendous celebration of the environment and voluntary effort.
The members of Killanne Community Development Group have erected one of the most unique Christmas trees in the country having created it from pieces of crocheted squares of wool.
The tree was erected in the village last week following a call out asking people to donate unwanted pieces of wool for the project.
One of the committee members, Ann O Connor, spoke to this newspaper about the tree. We always try to place an emphasis on re-using materials and preventing waste, she said.
The group is very highly regarded in that respect and last week won its latest award for its biodiversity efforts in the Keep Wexford Beautiful awards.
