NOLANVILLE, TX â The City of Nolanville got a very special award from Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB).
The non-profit recently named the city a Gold Star Affiliate after going above and beyond on the established requirements in order to be in good standing with KTB.
City officials say they re more than happy to receive this distinct honor and are willing to use this as motivation to help keep their community clean and beautiful.
The city will officially be recognized at 54th annual Keep Texas Beautiful conference in June.
Keep Nolanville Beautiful was founded in 2015 a as an environmental advocacy and action committee to preserve and improve the community and enhance the quality of life in Nolanville, according to Kerry Fillip of Keep Nolanville Beautiful.
Gold Star recognition is the highest status an affiliate can receive, a news release said.
In 2004, Gold Star recognition began for communities that go above and beyond the requirements, which include submitting a report, paying dues, attending training and participating in a KTB-endorsed event.

NOLANVILLE â Forty vendors and a host of local residents came out to enjoy the weekend weather Saturday and attend the first Christmas Market sponsored by Grizzlyâs Hidden Falls Nursery and Farrâs Landscape Supply in Nolanville.
Vendor tents were filled with a variety of food, home decor, lotions, baked goods, Christmas decorations, designer mugs and Mr. and Mrs. Claus were there with a professional photographer to have holiday portraits made.
Keeping the children occupied was Kerry Fillip with Keep Nolanville Beautiful assisted by Kelly Ann Blanchard, the director of Keep Nolanville Beautiful. Gavin Atkinson also agreed to make the rounds in the Mr. Grinch suit.
