The hosts also found seven total blocks at the net, five of which saw contributions from Keenan Sanders as he tied his season-high in block assists.  Senior and Santa Barbara High alum Henry Hancock erupted for a match-best and career-high 11 kills on a .474 percentate. He also scooped up six digs. Behind him was Ryan Wilcox who had 10 kills and hit .474. Wilcox led all players with nine digs.

(Gary Kim / Noozhawk photo) By Barry Punzal, Noozhawk Sports Editor | @NoozhawkSports March 3, 2021 | 6:57 p.m. Middle blocker Keenan Sanders started the season strong, blasting 16 kills and hitting .800 to lead the fourth-ranked UCSB men’s volleyball team to a four-set victory over UC San Diego in the Gauchos’ season opener on Wednesday afternoon at Rob Gym. The scores were 25-18, 26-28, 25-18, 25-19. Setter Casey McGarry did a nice job spreading the ball around. He had 51 assists to go with 13 digs and three block assists.
