A big jump in new covid-19 cases yesterday as the province reported 617 for the previous 24 hours. Once again Fraser Health accounted for more than half the new cases. The number continued to drop in the Interior Health area though with just 17 new cases. There will be a live update this afternoon at 3.
The Ministry of Health is investing in Interior research universities to understand the harmful effects of COVID-19 and mitigate its impact on communities across the province. UBCO is part of the group that will take on projects from identifying the effects of the pandemic on the mental health and well-being of people living in rural communities, to improving the lifespan of N95 masks.
