Tipperary dairy farmer Keelan Troy is on a high after seven replacement heifers believed to have been stolen on the night of Friday 30 April were recovered late on Sunday night.
The heifers were found in a laneway approximately three miles from where they disappeared in Cloughjordan, which the farmer had searched on a number of occasions over the weekend.
Troy told the
Irish Farmers Journal that he could see the marks of a trailer ramp on the laneway and that the heifers were closed in by a gate which had previously been opened when he drove through on his searches.

It’s the second such theft incident recently, after 11 calves were taken from the farm of George Clarke at Ballaghmore near Roscrea last Sunday morning.
After a public appeal with Garda intervention, they were returned to George’s farm just over 24 hours later.
