Virginia-based IKEA US Retail LLC is recalling USB Chargers citing burn and electric shock hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 22,600 units of IKEA ÅSKSTORM 40W USB Chargers were sold in the United States, and about 10,250 units were sold in Canada.
Health Canada has recalled a USB charger sold at IKEA stores across Canada due to burn and electric shock hazards. A total of 10,268 units of the IKEA USB charger were sold in Canada from April 2020 to December 2023.
IKEA Canada maintains an online list of products for which it has issued recalls. In every case, customers have the option to return affected products for a refund even without a receipt. Recall reasons range from changes to national or international product standards to, in the case of an espresso maker, a "risk of the product bursting during use."
