i don t know. some accountability is coming. carley: his choice words for the prosecutor to try to lock him up. todd: justice cavanagh says president biden is ignoring a major issue with lawsuits filing a. lauren simonetti has more on that. walk this way walk this way
is in this country every person has inalienable rights and that includes the unborn. they have inalienable rights, they are valuable, they are protected and it is time to let the people make good on that promise. cavanagh went to great pains to reaffirm the court would not be outlawing abortion. people read the headlines don t realize this would merely be returning it to the states. some states would have it be legal, others would have restrictions and if people didn t like that, vote the state legislatures out and they would start over. a a lot of people think that means there would be no abortion which a lot of conservatives want but that is not what the court would be doing in overturning roe, correct? exactly right. this is about democracy. this is about the people of this country having a say the first time in 50 years on this important question. this is a moral question. the abortion issue is a moral issue and that is exactly why the american people should get to have a say i
interests of the unborn woman in the womb and this is something i thought justice cavanagh pointed out brilliantly. there s an interest here throughout the pregnancy in the life of the child and every justice on the united states supreme court has acknowledged in past years that there is an interest in unborn life, the question is when did that interest become compelling and the answers it is compelling throughout the pregnancy because the unborn child has rights throughout the pregnancy and it is time the court recognized that and got out of the business of imposing their moral views on the rest of the country. that is not the court s place. it has badly damaged illegitimacy, time to stop that and it is time to allow the american people to reclaim the basic promise of america which
overturned, whatever likelihood that might have been, this is likely a return to the states. including justice kavanaugh, why should we just made me neutral again? these are questions that we are still debating 50 years later, shouldn t this be decided by political people because it s a mix of moral and political and social issues, and to leave it at that. what was really fascinating is, cavanagh came out aggressively against the liberal justices saying, you need to uphold roe or we simply don t overturn cases. he read off a list of cases in which they overturn a previous holdings and that those cases were celebrated today. justice breyer who kept on raising this i don t think would blink at reversing heller on second amendment rights or citizens united and do so that was some of the more tense exchanges that occurred between the justices today.
