The Neighborhood Planning Committee passed a resolution to make certain if voters approve a $50 million bond issue the money would be sent to the Housing Trust Fund.
The Kansas City, Missouri, City Council voted to approve a resolution that will designate a $50 million bond funding for affordable housing to the Housing Trust Fund Thursday.
“This ordinance does nothing to create affordable housing in Kansas City. All it does is create profits for developers,” said one of the dozens of opponents who packed the City Council chamber to oppose the mayor’s proposed housing changes.
