Joe Garner’s 10th of the season and an Adam Matthews own goal saw Town to a 2-0 away victory over second-bottom Sunderland, their first ever win at the Stadium of Light and their first on Wearside since 1989. Garner netted a brilliant low strike on 35 and Matthews stabbed over his own line in first-half injury time.

Onyedinma, who has represented Wanderers in League Two, One and the Championship, was one of Wycombe s best players last season, with his blistering runs and match-winning goals against Reading and Blackburn Rovers. And even though he had to wait until January to register his first goal of the season, his positive displays earned him many plaudits with Luton trying to sign the winger that month. He scored five goals last campaign, with four of those goals coming in wins.
