Maryland State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in investigating several unsolved fatal hit-and-run crashes that have been reported over the past year.
These crashes occurred between Feb. 29, 2020 and Sept. 27, 2020 in Howard, Baltimore and Prince George’s counties. None of these cases are believed to be connected.
The most recent case occurred between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2020 in Howard County. According to investigators, the suspect vehicle struck three people who had been involved in two other crashes moments prior to the fatal incident.
The series of three crashes occurred on southbound Interstate-95 near Route 100. The first crash occurred when a 2020 Nissan Armada struck a deer, then traveled onto the left shoulder and struck the guardrail. A portion of the vehicle remained in the fast lane of I-95. The driver activated the hazard lamps on the car.

The Oyo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has revealed the identity of its member, Kazeem Afolabi, who allegedly fired the shot that killed a commercial motorcyclist, Tosin Thomas in Ibadan on Wednesday.
The Commandant of Amotekun, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd.), in a statement on Thursday by the media officer of the agency, Mrs Ayolola Adedoja, said Afolabi acted outside the guideline of the security outfit and had been dismissed and handed over to the police for prosecution.
The commandant said the agency regretted the loss of Thomas’s life, saying the leadership was already on touch with the family.
Kazeem Afolabi and has also delivered him to the police for prosecution. Thomas was said to have been hit by stray bullet around 11pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, when Amotekun corps were on patrol around Mokola area of Ibadan. In a statement by the media officer of the security outfit,

Col. Olayinka Olayanju said Afolabi acted outside the guideline of the security outfit and had been dismissed and handed over to the police for prosecution. Explaining how the incident happened, the commandant said the leader of Amotekun operatives around Mokola received a call that there was an armed robbery in the area and seven members of the agency proceeded to the place.

Following the extrajudicial killing of a 23-year-old man in Ibadan by an operative of the Oyo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun, the accused officer has been dismissed.
The Street Journal had earlier reported that an Amotekun officer, Kazeem Afolabi, allegedly killed one Tosin Thomas at Mokola Roundabout area of the city on.
It was gathered that the incident occurred when the corps was called to intervene in a case of armed robbery.
Following an investigation, the Commandant of the security outfit, Col. Olayanju Olayinka (retd.) said that Afolabi shot the victim which is against Amotekun’s protocol.
